Born and raised in the countryside of California, author
Ron Pridmore developed a love for the outdoors at a young age. Pridmore
was exposed to the diverse wildlife in the region. As a child he enjoyed
playing in the streams and woods. He could find and catch turtles and release
them back into their natural habitat. Ptridmore a father of three Amber,
Trevor and Diego watching his children grow up surrounded by computers and
video games, he and his wife Maria tried to instill in them the same respect
for nature that he gained during his childhood. For Pridmore, writing became
more than just a creative outlet, but a way to address the growing trend
of children’s love for technology over outdoor activities. “A lack of activities
is taking a toll on our children’s health. Getting kids outside and encouraging
them to play will help fight childhood obesity,” Says Pridmore. His love
for nature shows in his new book, Templeton Turtle goes exploring.
